D,E&I Vlog
What's it like to work at Google?

“When I think about belonging, I think about the different spaces where I’ve been invited into or been the only person who looks like me, but being welcomed is something different to being invited. And that’s really the journey that we’re on at Google.”

Melonie Parker, Chief Diversity Officer.

Our Mistakes
Gemini AI chatbot image generation of people offering inaccuracies in historical image generation and refusing to create images of particular groups (2024).
This wasn’t what we intended. We did not want Gemini to refuse to create images of any particular group. And we did not want it to create inaccurate historical — or any other — images. So we turned the image generation of people off and will work to improve it significantly before turning it back on. This process will include extensive testing. Gemini image generation got it wrong. We'll do better.
